medical 2The ultimate measure of success for cardiac arrest treatment is the survival rate of cardiac arrest patients.  In FY 2007, ATCEMS joined the CARES (Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival) program as one of its initial participants.

CARES allows ATCEMS to compare its performance to that of other participating agencies nationwide. FY 2008 data is reported in compliance with the CARES national guidelines, giving A/TCEMS the ability to measure its cardiac arrest performance against medically validated national standards.  Figure 10 shows ATCEMS’ cardiac arrest performance by year.
